What Abrasive Materials Are Needed for Welding Seam Grinding?

Welding seam is formed by melting and connecting the welding rod and the metal at the joint by using the high temperature of the welding heat source. After the weld cools, the two weldments are connected into a whole.

Welding seam not only affects the appearance but also affects the subsequent processes of the workpiece, such as polishing and overlapping with other workpieces.

The different welding processes of the two materials also determine the difference between the abrasive materials for welding seam grinding. Compared with aluminum alloy welding seam, the hardness of the stainless steel welding seam is higher, so it is more difficult to grind. Here are some abrasive materials like grinding disk suitable for welding seam grinding.

1. Stainless steel welding seam

The main grinding materials are louver blades and various forms of louver blades (half-wrapped, full-wrapped).

The louver blade is made of coarse abrasive paper with a strong grinding force. The stainless steel welding seam can be removed quickly by cooperating with an angle grinder.

The ordinary flat blade is suitable for plane welding seam with no corners or bends. Half-wrapped and full-wrapped blade are used for right-angled welding seam or welding seam with obvious angle.
