Application Characteristics and Grinding Introduction of Sandpaper Sponge

Sandpaper sponge sanding process has the characteristics of high production efficiency, good surface quality and low production cost, so it is widely used in furniture production. The final surface quality of furniture products is closely related to the sanding process. Sandpaper sponges are the main tool in the sanding process.

1. Application characteristics of sandpaper sponge

Sandpaper sponge is suitable for manual sanding of furniture, surface polishing of plastic products, polishing of car repair paint, surface treatment of metal rust spots and plastics. It has remarkable characteristics such as water resistance, acid and alkali resistance. It features soft dry grinding, situable for wet grinding and can all be reused.

Sandpaper sponge distinguishes abrasive paper models by sand surface particle size. P500-P600, P800-P1000, P1200-P1500, etc. are common particle size numbers.

2. Sanding method of sandpaper sponge

To sand sandpaper sponge, the surface of the crank generally has an anodized layer, grinding with abrasive paper will be very tiring, and it is difficult to control the strength, you can try spraying the surface with a strong microwave cleaner, the alkali energy in the cleaner will react with the anodized layer. Remove it and wait for the surface to turn black.

Then use sandpaper sponge to polish. It is recommended to start grinding from 800 or 1000 if there are no deep dents and scratches. Don't use too much force. After removing the black things, use sandpaper sponge 1200, 1500, 2000, and you can use 2500 if you have energy, remember to soak it in water.

If there are scars, first remove the dents as much as possible with No.360 and No.400, then polish from coarse to fine step by step, and finally apply a thin layer of aluminum alloy polishing paste or a thin layer, and wipe the surface with a soft cotton cloth, the pursuit of the effect can be repeated many times, the more times the brighter.

As for the problem of chamfering, the key is to look at the feeling of the hand. When grinding to the corners, you can try to control the angle of the abrasive paper, and then it is best not to use very coarse abrasive paper to grind the chamfer. A bit, don't be too demanding, it can be ignored basically, and it is not very obvious that it becomes brighter after polishing.

There are no special polishing skills, it is the crystallization of physical strength, sweat and patience. It is recommended to wear a pair of thin rubber gloves to prevent fingers from blistering. You can cut the sandpaper sponge into small pieces and then grind it, it will be more economical and the corners will be easier to grind. For the final polishing step, you can use an old cotton T-shirt to put it on your fingers and grind it hard. If some corners need to be ground, and it is largely depends on how flexible your fingers are.
