What are the Effects of Metal Surface Polishing Technology on the Process?

Metal surface polishing technology is also known as surface leveling technology, and in special cases where the requirement for leveling degree is very high, it is called mirror finishing technology. Surface leveling technology is developed with the production activities and living needs of human beings in the process of survival.

Metal surface polishing technology adopts soft polishing materials and abrasives to modify and process the metal surface for the purpose of obtaining a better glossy surface or mirror effect. Common polishing materials in polishing technology include polishing wheel, polishing belt, polishing wax, etc.

Influence of metal surface polishing technology on the process under different conditions:

Effects of different hardness on polishing process:

Increased hardness increases the difficulty of grinding, but the degree of finish will improve after the polishing process. As hardness increases, the polishing time required to achieve a higher finish degree increases accordingly. At the same time, the hardness increases, the possibility of over-polishing decreases accordingly.

Effects of different steels on polishing process:

Under the same hardness and the standard polishing process, the required polishing time of general ASSAB is basically the same. The adopted grinding process of some immortal die steel such as ASSAB-136 is slightly different due to its extremely high surface finish degree. The surface of ASSAB-136 should be ground to the finest sand before polishing. The most important thing is to stop the polishing operation immediately after the last polishing scratch has been eliminated.
